Things to consider - Point 7

 Things to consider...

5 sections

5 sections - having a story line throughout the video to keep viewers entertained and interested in the video.

The storyline that will run through my video is about a toxic relationship that ends and the boy try's to keep reaching out to the girl to try and work on things and get back together. There will be several different changes of scenes in this video to reflect this theme.

1. There will be clips of the singer performing at different parts of the song

2. A selection of party scenes - showing the boy being out partying, trying to avoid his feelings this shows how he is coping with it.

3. When the line "why'd you only every call me when you're high" in sung it will be clips of the girl in her room getting the calls and declining/ ignoring them, and will switch between that and the boy being out calling her.

4. At the beginning there will also be a scene with the couple arguing, this will be slowed down. This allows for the view to see right from the beginning that the relationship has ended and then will be able to follow along to see the different ways which they deal with this.

5. A well as all this there will be shots of a dancer (Millie) performing different routines throughout. Some of these will be as a silhouette and stand alone shots, where as others will be layered over (transparent) when the singer is performing.

6. Finally, at the end there will be a clip of the boy phoning her and then at the end you hear the call being answered but the video ends there. This leaves the viewer with several unanswered questions and wanting to find out if they managed to sort things out.

Lighting

Lighting is used in performance to create and set tone/ feeling for a performance. It can be used to show peoples emotions and feelings and tell a story through that.

There will be a projector that will be used at several different points of the video with clips of the couple together and then shots when they are by themselves. Depending on who is being shown there will be different colours to represent how they feel or emotions they bring out in outs.

Red when they are together. This shows love but also danger, when they are together it can be really nice and great but can change to the opposite.

Dark purple for the girl when she is alone to symbolize sadness and frustration over this relationship and the way it is still never really finished.

Green/ blue for the boy to represent jealous and sadness that he is feeling about this situation and the way it all ended.

Dull lighting when the singer is performing sections of the song.

Soft lighting when Millie is dancing.

Possible use of backlighting with shots of the couple before they broke up and ended things.

Colour - black and white Vs bright colours

For costumes and outfits in this video there won't be bright colours being worn (the colours will be used through lighting). The outfits will mostly be white, black, brown, beige etc. However, when there are scenes of parties there will be a mixture of all colours in the clothes.

The colour red will be the main one which will be used throughout the video - constantly referring to the relationship and how it made each of them feel. Reinforcing the idea of this toxic relationship. This will be shown through different ways such as red lipstick on mirrors and lighting.

Dull filters to contrast with bright lighting.

3am texts will appear in green and white fluorescent colours - very bright on screen.
